The HUVr Hoverboard Is A Hoax By Funny Or Die! – [Proof Inside]

UPDATE: 06/03/14 Funny Or Die admitted it was a hoax, posting the following statement on their website: “Funny Or Die recently teamed up with a group of celebrities for an elaborate prank to convince the world hoverboards were real and that a company called HUVr Tech had invented them. Sadly, we were lying. The great promise of Back to the Future II has not been fulfilled … yet. And for that, we truly are sorry.”

HUVr Tech is claiming to have invented the first real-life hoverboard. They built a website for that and prepared a video featuring Christopher Lloyd from Back To The Future II, the movie that showed the first fictional hoverboards, along with the famous skater Tony Hawk and artist Moby. The news is going viral but, guess what? It’s fake!

This hoax is prepared by the online humour company Funny Or Die. We have proof:

Lauren Biedenharn, a costume designer, posted on her online resume that she worked on this project in November 2013 and mentioned Funny Or Die in the clients name section. She took that out now but, here is a screenshot of the old version leaked online:

Another proof was found in Lydia Graboski-Bauer resume, another costume designer. She doesn’t mention the project in her online resume but, she forgot to take it out of her downloadable text CV. Here is a screeenshot:

Finally, here is a shot taken from Lauren Biedenharn’s Instagram account. We can clearly see she’s on the HUVr video set:

So now that we know who is behind this fake news the question that rises is why are they doing that? Till now, it is still a mystery. It is maybe an April Fool that they are planning to reveal on April 1st and create a buzz around Funny Or Die…
